Safety & consent
Consent, privacy and a clear exit are more important than chemistry. Here is how to keep your experience safe.
1. Adults only
Wifeswap is strictly for adults aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, leave now. If you are unsure about the age of someone you are talking to, stop and ask. Do not continue a conversation with someone who cannot confirm they are an adult.
2. Consent is ongoing
Consent is not a single yes at the start of the night. It is an ongoing conversation. Check in before you move from one thing to another. Make it normal to say "not yet", "not tonight" or "stop". A person who gets angry about a boundary is showing you exactly who they are.
3. Verify before you meet
Ask for a short video call before an in-person meeting. It confirms identity and gives you a sense of the person behind the profile. If someone refuses every form of verification but wants to meet immediately, treat that as a red flag.
4. Meet in public first
Choose a quiet bar, café or restaurant. Tell a trusted friend where you are going and when you expect to be back. Drive separately if you can. Keep the first meeting short and give everyone an easy way to leave.
5. Protect your privacy
Use the name you are comfortable sharing. Keep your address, workplace, children's school and financial details out of early conversations. Check what is visible in the background of photos and video calls. Do not share intimate images with someone you have not met and trust.
6. Never send money
Wifeswap will never ask you for payment to contact a profile. Be extremely cautious if someone asks for money, gift cards, crypto, travel costs or "verification fees". This is one of the most common scams in online dating. Stop the conversation and report the profile.
7. Watch for red flags
- They refuse a video call or always have an excuse.
- They pressure you to ignore a boundary or make you feel uptight for having one.
- They ask for money, financial details or personal documents.
- They share photos or stories about other people without consent.
- One partner is silent, uncomfortable or left out of the conversation.
- They want to meet somewhere private immediately.
8. Sexual health
Talk about safer sex before anything happens. Ask about testing, condoms and boundaries. If someone is evasive about sexual health, that is a reason to slow down. Regular testing is part of responsible adult life, not an awkward extra.
9. Alcohol and judgement
A drink can relax you. Too many can blur consent and make someone miss a signal. Set a limit before you go out, and never pressure someone to drink more than they want.
10. Report and remove
If someone threatens you, harasses you, shares your images without consent or asks for money, stop engaging and report them. Email [email protected] with the profile URL and a short explanation. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
11. Know your local laws
Adult lifestyle activities are legal in many places, but laws vary. It is your responsibility to understand the rules where you live. Wifeswap does not arrange meetings, verify identities or provide legal advice.
Stay safe
Take your time. Trust your gut.
If something feels off, it probably is. You never owe anyone a conversation, a photo or a meeting.
